We’re on your side

We want to help you rebuild your life as quickly as possible after an accident. We provide compensation to around 30,000 people affected by uninsured, untraced or foreign vehicle drivers every year. To build those cases we have to work with other organisations, such as the police and the NHS, to gather the evidence required to ensure you get the correct support.

Check for updates on the claims portal

You can log into the MIB claim portal to check the progress of your case at any time. Please check on the portal before contacting our team.

How long until your claim is approved?

Because we need to work with others, sometimes the wait for information can be long and is often out of our control. Our average case time is around nine months for simpler scenarios, but complex accidents involving lots of people and the most serious injuries can take several years to resolve.

We may be able to offer support with interim payments and medical bills if you're struggling financially while we work to settle your case. Any payments made will be offset against the final value of your claim.

Frequently asked questions about the MIB claims process

There are lots of national and local charities and organisations who can offer physical and mental health support following an accident that wasn’t your fault. You may be able to add the cost of these services on to your personal injury claim.
