How we're run

Mike joined the MIB board in 2018 and has served as Chair since 2021. He is the Managing Director of Commercial Insurance at AXA Insurance UK, bringing over 30 years of extensive experience in the insurance industry. A Chartered Insurer, Mike began his career with Commercial Union in the late 1980s. Over the years, he has held a variety of senior managerial roles in Insurance Companies across both personal and commercial lines. He brings a deep understanding of the sector and a strong commitment to supporting delivery of MIB’s strategy.

Angus joined MIB as Chief Executive in 2024. He brings strong leadership across risk, strategy and transformation, with expertise spanning commercial, legal and compliance functions. Angus has over 30 years’ experience, including senior roles at Aviva, and was most recently Group Chief Risk Officer at Hastings Group

Duncan joined MIB in 2022 as Head of Organisation Effectiveness and became Chief People Officer in 2025. He brings deep expertise in organisational development, people strategy and business transformation. Duncan has worked across sectors, including roles at ASDA (Walmart), Jaguar Land Rover, Worldpay, the NHS and the Civil Service.

Harky joined MIB in 2024. He brings strong financial leadership, strategic planning expertise and experience across both PLC and private equity environments within financial services and insurance. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Harky has previously held roles at RAC, Aviva, Capgemini, Restore and Maxxia UK.

Kjirste joined MIB in 2023 and is Chief Operating Officer. She brings extensive expertise in IT leadership, business and systems transformation, and software development lifecycle management, alongside strengths in process re-engineering and operational delivery. Kjirste’s career spans wealth management, banking and insurance.

Chris joined MIB in 2022 as Chief Risk Officer. He brings expertise in risk management, compliance and data protection, with global experience across (re)insurance. Chris has held senior roles at organisations including Vitality UK and Pacific Life Re, and is a Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary, with an MBA from Imperial College Business School.

Andrew joined MIB in 2023 to oversee MIB’s claims operations. He brings extensive claims leadership experience and a strong track record in technical claims strategy and reform. Andrew spent 25 years at Aviva, most recently as Technical Claims Director where he played a leading role in personal injury reform.
