We've been building Navigate, a single cloud platform with a unified user portal to host MID and MIAFTR from Spring 2024

But replatforming MID and MIAFTR to Navigate is just the beginning for our Navigate programme.

Our vision for Navigate is to give customers what they expect and deserve from modern digital services – real-time and self-service capability, comprehensive search functionality, and intuitive fraud detection.

But without high quality data underpinning it, the benefit of Navigate is compromised. That's why improving the data quality is a key strategic goal for MIB in the next few years.

So throughout 2024 and beyond, we'll work to build on the capabilities of this innovative, scalable foundation to support the industry's future needs.

Together with our members we'll work to improve the quality of information available and how we can incorporate new capabilities and services into Navigate.

Introducing the next two phases of our Navigate programme

We're launching the next two phases of the Navigate programme in early 2024.

Phase 2 will explore options for the future of CUE.

Check back in here for more information on Phase 2 shortly.

Phase 3 is a project looking at data quality, initially of MID and MIAFTR data. Because while replatforming these services is essential, we know without high quality data the benefits of Navigate will not be maximised.

We're setting up a new Industry Data Working Group, bringing together experts to help shape the development of a new set of data standards for motor policy and claims data, for the collective benefit of the industry and partners.

Customers have already been contacted directly and invited to nominate a  representative to join this group.

The group will develop options, assess the impact on the industry and put forward recommendations to the MIB Board.

We'd like the group to consist of representatives from both technical and operational functional leads, such as underwriting, claims, finance, data and analytics.

The group will hold a broad spectrum of perspectives from across the industry, and we'll share details of the group's membership.

It will play a key role in developing new standards, but it's essential that all organisations have the opportunity to contribute to this important work, so we'll also be seeking input from across the industry to support the activities of the Industry Data Working Group.

If you have any questions on the role of the group, please contact engagement@mib.org.uk
