Building Navigate for current needs, with an eye to the future

We’ve invested in the Navigate programme to provide the modern data services  that our industry deserves and needs.

We know our systems, that have served the industry well for many years, are in need of updating. We’ve listened to your frustrations with the limitations of our current, data services. And we’ve consulted widely across our industry to hear what we need to do to provide the modern, data services you deserve.

During that consultation journey we’ve talked to many customers and stakeholders about what they need from Navigate. Thank you to everyone who was part of that conversation.

In 2024 we'll launch Navigate as the solution to some of the limitations and frustrations that MID and MIAFTR currently present.

Customers told us they had SIX key requirements from Navigate

A single version of the truth

Our enterprise landscape is disparate and fragmented and sits on different supplier systems. They don’t talk to each other, they don’t know that each other exist. So you need a single version of the truth to leverage the power of unified data.

Improved timeliness of data

The decision making that you do, based on the data that you consume is only as good as the quality of the data and how quickly it gets there. So improving the timeliness of that data is a key requirement.

Increase the volume of data fields collected

We know there’s information that customers collect in underwriting and claims systems that currently are not able to be pulled through or that our systems are incapable of being able to ingest.

Overall better data quality

Improved data quality in both completeness and accuracy that we can harness, the better decision-making capability is for customers and stakeholders.

More flexible access and self-serve capability

The flexibility to control your own destiny, to dice and slice your own data and manage your own users.

Delivery of actionable insight

The ability to interrogate the data to give customers and stakeholders actionable insight to improve in the future.

Future benefits of Navigate

Navigate will be able to deliver EIGHT future key benefits

  • Real-time data – the capability to move to an API upload, enabling real-time data supply.

  • Self-service capability – an ability for organisations to manage and control their users and ability for users to access functions themselves.

  • Improvements for the future - functional capabilities will be developed, e.g.  short-term policies and improved multi-vehicle policy data capture.

  • Sophisticated search capability - for example multiple ways to search data.

  • A unified portal for all enquiries - register once for multiple services.

  • Improved reporting capability - and the ability for organisations to tailor their own reporting.

  • Service Support - technical support will be available 24/7/365.

  • Data ingestion and search improvements – the capability for organisations to enrich their risk management decisions and enhance counter fraud detection activities.

Looking further ahead...

Navigate is an agile, scalable and unified solution that brings our MID and MIAFTR data services together onto a single platform in 2024.

Programme Lead Sarah Edwards explains: “This is a huge opportunity for us. We’re building this platform with MID and MIAFTR in mind but it's architecturally capable and scalable to be lots more.  What we’re building is a solution that meets the needs that we have now but also is capable of meeting our needs in the future.”
