Your latest update - June
30 June 2025

A big thank you to all customers who jumped into portal testing in June!
Since our on-time launch on 2 June, 48 organisations have begun their testing - an incredible start! We’ve had some great feedback and already made improvements on the back of it. If you’ve tested already, thanks for your support so far.
We’re now ready for our second testing month that will see another large group of MIAFTR users start testing.
Most of you use the Navigate portal to submit and enquire on data, and we want to make sure it works for you. That’s why we’ve inviting every current MIAFTR customer to conduct testing before Go Live.
As you know, we’ve rolled out testing on a staggered basis. Each customer gets a full week-long window between June and September. Some of you still need to confirm your week for August so do please get in touch to arrange that.
Each test window includes a pre-briefing workshop, and we’ll ask for sign-off after testing to confirm the portal meets your needs. If you choose not to take part, we’ll need that confirmed in writing too.
Questions? Need help? Your engagement team member is only an email or a Teams call away.
Momentum is building for the 15 customers that use an API to submit and/or enquire on the MIAFTR data.
For those customers, we’re providing a new Navigate API (V2) that offers significant performance improvements. It’ll continue to support all existing functionality and comply with current industry standards.
Ten customers – representing 43% of the market - have successfully completed their full end-to-end integration, including development and testing - incredible news! The remaining five are now completing their development and will test in July.
Customers agreed on specific development and test windows to make sure we can provide the right level of technical support as they set up their new Navigate V2 API.
Thanks to everyone who’s worked so hard to get to this point and ensure we remain on track to complete this crucial work by the end of July.
Support for police partners
This summer, we’re inviting all police forces to test the Navigate portal.
Every force wishing to use Navigate needs to sign new product agreements and we’re continuing to work with a small number of police forces who are yet to sign.
Staff from the forces who’ve signed will be invited to conduct testing workshops with us in August. For participants, this will be a valuable opportunity to explore the new system, ask questions and confirm it meets operational needs. We’ll also share how some forces get best value from their current use of MIAFTR.
Additionally, in early Autumn, we’ll offer training support for signed-up police forces.
MIAFTR has been a key tool for all UK police forces since its creation by the insurance industry in 1987. It supports enforcement activity by providing information on write-off categories (A, B, S or N) that aren’t included on the PNC. MIAFTR is also the default mechanism used by all self-insured forces to formally notify the DVLA of any written-off vehicles.
