MIAFTR's move to Navigate confirmed for 24 November
10 September 2025

We're pleased to share that following our recent delivery checkpoint, we remain on track to move Motor Insurance Anti-Fraud & Theft Register (MIAFTR) into our Navigate platform, for launch on 24 November.
We're grateful to all MIAFTR stakeholders for working with us to help achieve this significant milestone.
We’re committed to transitioning all stakeholders into Navigate safely and smoothly. If we encounter any unexpected challenges, we’ll communicate with you promptly so your teams can plan accordingly.
As we enter the final three months, there’s still important work ahead, particularly for our data recipients who receive and rely on regular data extracts from MIAFTR. In addition to the DVLA, our data recipients include Thatcham Research, the Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB), and various vehicle provenance companies - all of whom will be fully tested and ready ahead of Go Live. Their continued engagement will be important and we’re grateful for their partnership and collaboration so far.
As a reminder, Vehicle Salvage & Theft Data plays a vital role in helping insurers meet their regulatory obligation to update the DVLA on total loss events. Within Navigate, it will be available under a separate tile, and we’ll be retiring the term MIAFTR.
Thanks to everyone who’s joined us for testing this summer and for the valuable feedback shared. Your partnership is really appreciated.
What’s coming next will include:
• Training resources: We’ll be sharing our suite of training materials via our microsite and directly with organisation's designated Navigate training champions.
• Ongoing support: Our engagement team will continue to be available to help throughout the transition, including reviewing user lists ahead of the move and supporting users to access Navigate.
• Regular updates: We'll keep stakeholders informed every step of the way to 24 November.
If you have any questions, feedback, or would like to speak with a member of our team, please don’t hesitate to reach out at engagement@mib.org.uk.
