The purpose of these pages is to provide you with information that will enable you to help your clients and insurers meet their Motor Insurance Database (MID) obligations and, in doing so, you can help make the MID's role in combating uninsured driving even more effective.
Insurers are in regular contact with their brokers on MID-related matters, and if you have any specific questions you should discuss them directly with your insurers in the first instance. In many cases the answer to your questions will be unique to your relationship with your insurer so it would be inappropriate for MIB to try to answer such questions. However, if your insurer is unable to answer your query, or if you have a more general question on the MID not covered anywhere on this website, please feel free to contact us by emailing brokers@mib.org.uk
Protecting Policyholders
A leaflet is now available to briefly update brokers and insurers on the Motor Insurance Database. It aims to highlight the importance of data quality and timeliness on the MID and links this to the introduction of the Continuous Insurance Enforcement (CIE) scheme in 2011.
