Can owners of, or passengers in, uninsured vehicles claim?

The owners of uninsured vehicles, which at the time of the accident were not insured as required by the Road Traffic Act 1988, are not able to claim from MIB in respect of damage to such vehicles.

Persons travelling in an uninsured vehicle who knew or ought to have known it was uninsured are also excluded from claiming.
