What do I do if I have uninsured losses, or am only insured for third party?
If your accident was within the European Economic Area (EEA), you may be able to pursue your claim against agents in the UK, using the procedures introduced by the Fourth Motor Insurance Directive which came into force on 19 January 2003 refer to (Fourth Directive)
For all accidents in other countries, it is essential that you have legal advice so that you know what you can claim for and how long your claim may take. Do not delay getting advice as you may have a relatively short time in which to make your claim.
Any legal action normally has to be pursued in the country where the accident happened.
For a small fee MIB may be able to assist you in obtaining Police and medical reports and other similar documents from the foreign countries.
