Submitting a Claim
To make a claim under the Uninsured or Untraced Drivers' Agreements you will need to complete a claim form which can be accessed by the link below.
Claims may be submitted direct by a claimant, through a solicitor or other appointed representative. Advice may also be provided by the local Citizens' Advice Bureau.
Claims will be dealt with in accordance with the appropriate agreement and the law. It is important to ensure that the police have been informed of the accident as part of the requirements under the agreements.
To make a claim under the Green Card system, if you have the name of the insurer or a Green Card number, firstly check whether there is a UK agent for the foreign insurers from the "UK Represenatives of Foreign Insurers" page. If there is an agent you should direct the claim to them. If there is no agent identified you should complete the general claim form which can be accessed from the link below.
If the accident occurred abroad the MIB claim form is not applicable. You should write to us with full information.
When making a claim it is necessary to keep records of important information/documents. This page will assist you in making sure you report the accident to the necessary parties and maintain evidence you may need to support your losses.
